Soohee, Fifth Mehla:
Gr mih Twkuru ndir n AwvY ]
ghar mehi t(h)aakur nadhar n aavai ||
Within the home of his own self, he does not even come to see his Lord and Master.
gl mih pwhxu lY ltkwvY ]1]
gal mehi paahan lai lattakaavai ||1||
And yet, around his neck, he hangs a stone god. ||1||
Brmy BUlw swkqu iPrqw ]
bharamae bhoolaa saakath firathaa ||
The faithless cynic wanders around, deluded by doubt.
nIru ibrolY Kip Kip mrqw ]1] rhwau ]
neer birolai khap khap marathaa ||1|| rehaao ||
He churns water, and after wasting his life away, he dies. ||1||Pause||
ijsu pwhx kau Twkuru khqw ]
jis paahan ko t(h)aakur kehathaa ||
That stone, which he calls his god,
Ehu pwhxu lY aus kau fubqw ]2]
ouhu paahan lai ous ko ddubathaa ||2||
that stone pulls him down and drowns him. ||2||

gunehagaar loon haraamee ||
O sinner, you are untrue to your own self;

paahan naav n paaragiraamee ||3||
a boat of stone will not carry you across. ||3||
