jb lgu myrI myrI krY ]
jab lag maeree maeree karai ||
As long as he cries out, Mine! Mine!,
qb lgu kwju eyku nhI srY ]
thab lag kaaj eaek nehee sarai ||
none of his tasks is accomplished.
jb myrI myrI imit jwie ]
jab maeree maeree mitt jaae ||
When such possessiveness is erased and removed,
qb pRB kwju svwrih Awie ]1]
thab prabh kaaj savaarehi aae ||1||
then God comes and resolves his affairs. ||1||

aisaa giaan bichaar manaa ||
Contemplate such spiritual wisdom, O mortal man.

Why not meditate in remembrance on the Lord, the Destroyer of pain? ||1||Pause||

As long as the tiger lives in the forest,
qb lgu bnu PUlY hI nwih ]
thab lag ban foolai hee naahi ||
the forest does not flower.
jb hI isAwru isMG kau Kwie ]
jab hee siaar si(n)gh ko khaae ||
But when the jackal eats the tiger,
PUil rhI sglI bnrwie ]2]
fool rehee sagalee banaraae ||2||
then the entire forest flowers. ||2||

jeetho booddai haaro thirai ||
The victorious are drowned, while the defeated swim across.

By Guru's Grace, one crosses over and is saved.
